The primary objective is to prevent attacks on schools before they occur by encouraging early reporting, community intelligence gathering and faster communication with the appropriate security authorities.
Instead of waiting until an attack happens, PCRC Safe School enables people around the school environment to report warning signs early.

How PCRC Safe School Works
1. Public Access Through BOOSTAR
Teachers, higher-institution students, parents, community members and school-security officers download BOOSTAR and use it to report suspicious activity or request emergency assistance.
2. Emergency Alert and Security Connection
During an emergency, the user presses the BOOSTAR floating or SOS button. The app assists the user to dial 112, access the Police Control Room serving the location, share the distress location and connect with approved divisional or community-security structures.
3. Safe School Monitoring Through BOOSTAR-M
Authorised school-security officials can view community reports, intelligence, student distress alerts, registered school locations and reports requiring escalation.
4. School Registration and Verification
The PCRC Chairman coordinates physical registration within the relevant Police division so the location, responsible officers and response structure are correctly captured.
5. Community Attack Warning Support
Participating tertiary institutions may receive speaker-based warning support for authorised broadcasts during an intended or developing attack.

Responsibilities of Participating Schools
The public app and emergency-reporting service are free. Schools remain responsible for accurate information, authorised officers, data access for monitoring, internal safety coordination, training logistics and maintenance of any additional institutional equipment.
